Biography

Sarah Slobin is a data journalist and visual editor at Reuters, working with the Investigative and data team. She began her career at the New York Times, working on the graphics desks across the newsroom and running the business graphics team. She was the infographics editor at Fortune, a visual editor at the Wall Street Journal and editor for the Things team at Quartz. Sarah teaches data visualization for the Journalism + Design program at The New School and has taught at Columbia University's Lede program. She was West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media’s first innovator-in-residence where she led a class in experimental journalism. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband Eric Palma, who is an illustrator, her daughter Isabel, who is a burgeoning filmmaker, and a brindle mutt named Sketch, who is a dog.
